With October here and Halloween just around the corner, the towns of Jasper, Huntingburg, and Ferdinand are buzzing with spooky fun. If you’re looking for family-friendly trick-or-treating, haunted happenings, or festive fall events, here’s a round-up of what’s coming up in our local area. (Note: always double-check dates/times with organizers, as things can change.)
Spooky Streets at the Museum
On October 23 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, the Dubois County Museum will host Spooky Streets at the Museum — trick-or-treating, crafts, ice cream, and spooky ambiance in the museum and exterior grounds.
Jasper Public Library Halloween Fun
All through the month of October, the Jasper Public Library has activities for all ages to celebrate the spooky season! Click here for a schedule of events.
Halloween at Central Green
On Sunday, October 26, Jasper’s Halloween at Central Green will take place from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Kids (12 & under) and their guardians can trick-or-treat around Central Green in costume.
4-H Kickoff Trunk or Treat
Mark your calendar for October 27, when the Purdue Extension Dubois County is hosting a trunk or treat event at 505 W 5th Street from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Expect crafts, games, music, and trunks full of goodies.
Trick or Treat Trail (Greater Jasper Downtown Business Association)
Thursday, Oct. 30 bring the kids (under 12) to trick-or-treat around the square in downtown Jasper. View the map of participating merchant members!
Uebelhor Trunk or Treat
Another trunk or treat option: October 30 from 5:30 to 7:00 PM, at Uebelhor & Sons (972 Wernsing Rd, Jasper). Bring your costume and check out decorated trunks, vote for your favorite, and collect treats.
City Trick-or-Treating
In Jasper, official trick-or-treating hours are set for October 31 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
ADULT HALLOWEEN FUN
Halloween Karaoke Night at Owsley’s Lounge
21 and over are invited to Owsley’s Lounge Saturday, Oct. 25 from 7-10pm on the patio. Come dressed up and enjoy the night full of hauntingly good tunes and ghoulish fun!
Odd Fellows Halloween Party
Saturday, Oct. 25 from 5-10pm, dress up in costume and enjoy live music by Austin Knepp (7-10pm) at Odd Fellows. Must be 21.
Halloween Bash at Fleigs
On Friday, October 31 at 6:00 PM, Fleig’s Café (905 Main Street, Ferdinand) is hosting a Halloween Bash. Participate in the costume contest, enjoy live music by Michael Wilmes from 9:30pm-12:30am, drink specials and spooky fun!
Trick-or-Treating Hours for the City of Huntingburg
Trick-or-treating hours in Huntingburg are from 5:30 to 8:00 PM on Friday, Oct. 31.
5 Year Anniversary Bash at Yard Goat Artisan Ales
Saturday, Nov. 1 celebrate with Yard Goat at their 5 year Anniversary Bash! Enjoy a full day of live music on the street featuring Dave Newton and Rich Hardesty. A full day of special food and new beer releases is planned along with some guest breweries also on site! Make plans to celebrate with them from 11am – 10pm.
Tri-County YMCA Monster Dash
Saturday, Oct. 25, 10am EST, participate in the annual Monster Dash 5K at the Tri-County YMCA in Ferdinand. Walkers and strollers are welcome and costumes are suggested! $30 to Register!
Halloween Costume Party in St. Anthony
The Divine Mercy Parish and St. Anthony Volunteer Fire Dept are hosting a costume party! The haunting begins at 6:30pm at the Divine Mercy Parish Center on Sunday, Oct. 26!
Halloween Storytime at Scenic Hills at the Monastery
10am on Thursday, Oct. 30, enjoy storytime at Scenic Hills and enjoy trick or treating with the residents as they pass out candy!

Trick-or-treating hours in Ferdinand are from 5:00 to 7:30 PM on Friday, Oct. 31.
