Santa Comes to Town in Jasper on Nov. 28! Dress your kids as Christmas packages to participate in the Christmas mini-parade, beginning at 1pm at the downtown Fire Station, leading Santa to his house around the square in Jasper. If you can’t make it on the 28th, be sure to see the entire schedule when he plans to be available in his house. Stick around for the tree lighting ceremony and be sure to shop the local shops to find the perfect gift for loved ones this Christmas season!
Monday, Dec. 1, Ferdinand is hosting a Community Christmas celebration at the Ferdinand Community Center beginning at 6:30pm. Visit with Santa, enjoy games and activities, children’s choir performances, holiday treats and more!
December 7, Celestine kicks off the season with a cookie walk at the St. Celestine Parish Center from 8-12pm. Bring the kids to visit with Santa at the Celestine Park from 3-4:30pm and be sure to stick around for the Candy Cane Chase and visits with the Grinch at 4:45pm. End the evening at the lighted Christmas parade beginning at 5:30pm followed by the tree lighting!
O’Tannenbaum Days – December 4-7, celebrate the Christmas season all throughout Jasper! Enjoy cookie walks, vendor markets and more. Around the downtown square, caroling singers, visits with Santa, carriage rides, and artists & vendors will be in stores showcasing their work throughout the weekend. The American Legion hosts its annual free Christmas Party at JMS at 1pm on December 6th. Be sure to check out the Holiday Season schedule for Jasper for a listing of all of the events throughout town.
Don’t forget about the shopping spree the Greater Downtown Jasper Business Association is hosting. Purchase items fromthe participating stores and be entered to win either 1, $500 or 5, $100 GDJBA gift cards
Saturday, Dec. 6th, the family can enjoy a day of fun in Huntingburg! Shop the merchants along 4th Street to find the perfect gifts for loved ones on your list. From 12-7pm, enjoy ice skating in the park, followed by A Christmas Journey – Candlelit Parade beginning at 6:30pm on 4th Street. Following the parade, stay for A Starry Night in Bethlehem an experience at Salem United Church of Christ. Santa will also make an appearance for the parade!
The Dubois County Museum hosts a variety of Christmas events throughout the season. Beginning in November and lasting through the new year, visit for the Festival of Christmas trees with hundreds of trees decorated throughout the 50,0000 sq. ft. museum. Also on December 6th, Holland hosts Stille Nacht at the Commons with an afternoon full of fun activities for your family. The parade kicks the afternoon off at 3:30pm. Decorate your ATV, 4×4, golf cart, gator or lawn mower and participate in this fun holiday parade! Music in the park and kids activities will also take place. Get your picture with Santa & enjoy the tree lighting ceremony with devotions & singing at 5pm.
Bring the kids to the Jasper Public Library for a variety of activities throughout the Christmas Season. View their facebook page for details on events including making gingerbread houses, reindeer hot chocolate cones, visit with Santa and enjoy donuts & juice along with many other holiday activities for all ages.
On December 23 from 6:30-8pm, bring your family for the Nativity Drive-thru at Holland United Methodist Church. Be sure to Journey to Bethlehem and witness the baby Jesus being presented to the world! Enjoy the journey from the comfort of your vehicle, a FREE Holiday goodie bag will be given to every vehicle.
