Catch a Bombers Baseball Game

Root for the Dubois County Bombers at Huntingburg League Stadium. The Bombers are a collegiate wood bat baseball team featuring players from college rosters throughout the United States.  The team calls League Stadium home during the summer months, just as the Rockford Peaches did in the movie.  During Bombers games, Peaches are in the stadium helping everyone have a great time while watching great baseball.

Built in 1894, the grandstand at Huntingburg City Park has seen its share of exhibits, shows, races, and certainly baseball games. Book a tour to learn about the stadium & hear “behind the scene” stories while the movie, “A League Of Their Own” was being filmed. Check out a video shared on YouTube of the one-of-a-kind stadium!

PATOKA LAKE

Patoka Lake is Southern Indiana’s #1 recreation area that offers boating, swimming, water-skiing, fishing, hunting, biking, hiking, canoeing, and camping.

Establishments around the lake provide marine service, boat rentals, cabin rentals and other lodging.

Enjoy clear, clean water on a spacious, uncrowded lake. During the week, it could seem that Patoka Lake is your own personal haven. Toward dusk, the lake is usually ever-so-smooth… perfect for skiiing or sinking a line.

A bald eagle may be seen swooping down toward a tree overlooking the lake.

Dubois County is a destination rich in history and brimming with captivating historic attractions. Experience the stories of the past as they come to life, promising a memorable experience to remember for years to come.

The Monastery Immaculate Conception

Located in Ferdinand, the Sisters of Saint Benedict welcome you to tour and experience their home. Also located on the grounds of the Monastery is an outdoor Grotto and the Monastery Gift Shop. Tours are available Tuesday – Sunday. Don’t miss St. Benedicts Brew Works, known to be the only brewery located on the grounds of a Monastery in the entire United States!

St. Joseph Catholic Church, located in Jasper is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is open to the public to take a personal tour and view the beautiful stained glass windows and mosaics above the altar.

Dubois County Museum

Known as one of the largest county museums in the state of Indiana, this museum showcases the rich German heritage and history of the Dubois County area. Take a journey back in time with a visit to the double log cabin, historic agricultural machinery collection and the furniture industry, sports and military exhibits. Visit the “Main Street Dubois County” featuring 17 rooms portraying life at the turn of the 20th century including a barber shop, bank, hotel, photographer and shoe shop. A hands-on area houses a one-room schoolhouse and play yard, an interactive Lewis and Clark expedition boat, dress-up area, and a log reading nook.
