The Love Where You Live “Summer Challenge” invites locals and visitors alike to experience the best attractions, events, outdoor adventures, arts, entertainment, and sweet treats throughout Dubois County from May 25 through August 14.

Whether you’re planning family outings, weekend adventures with friends, or simply looking for new places to explore close to home, the Summer Challenge is designed to help you experience a wide variety of local gems while supporting the businesses, attractions, and organizations that make Dubois County thrive.

Participants can check off activities throughout the summer with categories including:

From exploring the scenic beauty of Patoka Lake and Ferdinand Forest to enjoying family fun at local pools, splash pads, theaters, and escape rooms, there’s something for every age and interest. Participants are also encouraged to discover Dubois County’s rich history with stops at the Jasper City Mill, Dubois County Museum, and the iconic Monastery Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand.

Art lovers can enjoy workshops and creative spaces throughout the county, while those with a sweet tooth can cool off with local favorites like Zax Creamery, Pink Duck Creamery, Windmill Chill, and Dairy Barn. Families can also spend time outdoors enjoying parklands, splash pads, trails, and recreational activities that showcase the natural beauty of Southern Indiana.

HOW IT WORKS!

The challenge is simple: complete activities, check them off your challenge sheet, snap photos along the way, and share your adventures on social media by tagging Visit Dubois County Indiana on Facebook or Instagram. Once participants collect at least five checkmarks, they can stop by the Visitor Center to claim a prize. Plus, every social media tag featuring Summer Challenge adventures earns an entry into a drawing for a gift basket filled with items from valued local partners.
