SHOP 4TH STREET
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this historic business district, once destroyed by a fire in 1889, has been lovingly restored to a charming Victorian downtown, housing more than two dozen locally owned antique and specialty shops and unique eateries. The walking tour takes you back to the 1800s and early 1900s, a time when most of the two-story Italianate and late Victorian commercial buildings along historic 4th Street were constructed. The brick-paved sidewalks and 1800s façade provide a quaint setting for many special events throughout the year.
Nestled in the heart of Southern Indiana, Huntingburg’s downtown district offers a unique blend of quaint shops, delightful eateries, and a warm community atmosphere that sets the community apart from any other Main Street.
Culinary Delights. Savor the flavors of Huntingburg in the charming eateries on 4th Street. From cozy cafes & coffee shops, to a brewery and upscale restaurants and pubs, discover why the local cuisine is a favorite among residents and visitors alike.
Community Events. From May – Sept. stop by on Saturday mornings at Market Street Park for the weekly Farmer’s Market or enjoy the seasonal 4th Friday concerts (May-Aug) featuring food trucks, bounce houses & live entertainment.
History. 4th Street is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Huntingburg takes pride in its historic architecture. Wander the streets and marvel at the well-preserved buildings that tell the story of the town.
2026 Strolling in Huntingburg Events
The Chocolate Stroll takes place around Valentines Day, feautring heated igloos available to rent on the street and also horse-drawn carriage rides to enjoy. 4th Street’s atmosphere is similar to that of a Hallmark movie, the perfect place to spend with your valentine!
In the spring, the Daffodil Stroll typically takes place around Easter to promote shopping local. The Easter Bunny is usually spotted along 4th Street throughout the weekend with other fun, family activities taking place.
The Fall season is celebrated with the Pumpkin Stroll. September 4-5, 2026 kick off one of the most popular seasons for people to enjoy time outdoors in a festival setting. Enjoy kids activities, promotions in stores, & other on street vendors.
Huntingburg is most known for the popular CHRISTMAS STROLL that kicks off the holiday season in early November. In 2026, the Christmas Stroll is scheduled for November 12-15, transforming the downtown into a setting of a Hallmark Movie.
