Enjoy festive events & shopping opportunities for locals and visitors alike, centered around the enormous Christmas tree on the downtown square this holiday season!

The $1,000 SHOPPING SPREE hosted by the Greater Downtown Jasper Business Association is taking place again in 2025!  Encouraging people to shop local, the merchants are offering up to $1,000. Make a purchase at 5 of the participating stores through the end of December to be entered to win a GDJBA gift card. They will be giving away one $500 gift card and five, $100 gift cards. You can pick up the shopping spree card at any of the participating stores. 

 

Through the month of December, Santa will be in his house on the following dates & times. Bring the kids to let him know what is on their Christmas list this year and get a photo with the big jolly guy! Santa is courtesy of The Greater Downtown Jasper Business Association. Canned food donations are accepted for the food bank.

The big holiday celebration, Jasper O’Tannenbaum Days, takes place Dec. 4-7 with a variety of events, vendor markets & celebrations all throughout Jasper.

Beginning Thursday, December 4, Jasper Arts hosts the final First Thursday / Holiday Party along with a Holiday Pop-Up Arts Market from 5-7pm at the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center. Shop unique, handmade treasuresby local artists and enjoy an evening filled with art, live music, and holiday cheer.

Friday, browse the local shops throughout town offering specials and tasty treats in stores, enjoy carolers on the street & much more!

On Saturday, Dec. 6, start the day by participating in the Jingle Bell Jog, a free 5K event beginning at 9am at Downtown Running. Then, from 10am – 3pm, Artisans will be displaying their work or even demonstarting in store fronts, showcasing the many talented local artists. The classic holiday movie, Home Alone is showing at the Historic Astra theater on Saturday, Dec, 6 at 3pm. Doors open at 2:30. This event is FREE thanks to American Merchantile and the Greater Downtown Jasper Business Association.

Enjoy Carriage Rides on Saturday & Sunday, Dec. 6 & 7 from 12-3pm beginning in front of Jasper City Hall.

Throughout Jasper, several cookie walks and holiday bazaars will be taking place. There will be kids activities taking place at the Jasper Public Library and also the Train Depot! 

The Dubois County Museum will have Strings Inc. perform their holiday concert on Saturday at 3pm.

Tours of St. Joseph Church and also the Bell Tower will take place on Saturday. Tower tours will be at 11am and 1pm and a church tour will be at 12pm.
