Deb started sewing at the age of 7 when she received a child’s sewing machine for Christmas. She started making doll blankets and doll clothes. At the age of 12, with her mom’s assistance, she cut out material and sewed her own pajamas. Her mother was an expert seamstress, made most of the family’s clothing, and was a quilter. Deb’s expert sewing skills led her to a position with a Touch of Class where she learned to sew window treatments, blinds, pillows, and comfort toppers. She has also worked at Best Chairs for 30 years, 10 of those in the sewing machine department where she supervised staff and taught employees how to sew chairs, sofas, and recliners. She has made clothes for herself, her daughter Hannah, and has constructed several quilt toppers. Her new loves are table runners, place mats and napkins.
