This year’s Strassenfest is relocated to 4th Street behind the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center to accommodate the courthouse square infrastructure and revitalization project offering range of exciting festivities planned for visitors of all ages. Founded in 1818, the city of Jasper has a rich history that is preserved in its many beautiful landmarks, parks, and museums. If you’re a history buff, make sure to visit St. Joseph Catholic Church for a tour on Saturday at Noon and visit the Jasper City Mill, open Thursday thru Sat. 9am-5pm & Sun. 12pm – 5pm. Book your ride on the Spirit of Jasper Train & check out the historic Train Depot. The Dubois County Museum will be open all weekend as well for a chance to interact with locals and learn more about the region’s vibrant German heritage.
Savor Authentic German Cuisine: A stop at the famous Schnitzelbank to enjoy the authentic German Cuisine should be at the top of your priority list. The Jasper Strassenfest is famous for its mouth-watering German cuisine, which includes Bratwurst, Schnitzel, Sauerkraut, and more. Food stands and vendors are set up throughout the festival, so you’ll never go hungry.
Grab A Drink: Make a stop at the Bier Garden any evening and enjoy live entertainment on the bier garden stage open from 6-12:30am Thursday & Friday and Saturday 1pm-12:30am. *button required for entrance into the bier garden On Saturday, stop by Dave Buehler Plaza for the Wine Fair featuring wineries from throughout southern Indiana offering tastings and purchase your favorite to enjoy in the park or later at home.



Enjoy Live Music and Dancing: Music and dancing are an essential part of the Jasper Strassenfest experience. You’ll find live bands playing traditional German music, as well as contemporary tunes that are sure to get you moving. Feel free to dance along with the locals, or watch as professionals take to the stage to show off their skills. Whichever you choose, you’ll be guaranteed an exciting time.
Children’s Activities: If you’re traveling with kids, they’ll surely love the carnival rides and games. Also be sure to take a trip on the Spirit of Jasper Train & take advantage of these FREE activities including, face painting, caricature drawings, and a balloon guy. Friday evening head to the Hot Air Balloon Launch for a unique experience to get up close and personal with hot air balloons for photo ops. Launch is scheduled for 7pm with the field opening at 5:30 to watch the process. On Saturday, participate in the Das Kinderspiel (Children’s obstacle course), the Chicken Dance competition and the Dad’s Rootbeer Mug Holding contest.
